Fonts

Masthead Fonts - 'HME'

The first font, Bebas, is probably my favourite font out of the three I have selected. This is my favourite because it it very bold and will therefore stand out against the background. Not only this,it is thick enough that there will be enough room to have 2 strokes on it, which is how I plan on making my masthead.
The second font, Streamster, despite being a nice looking font, would not be suitable for a masthead. This is because it is not bold enough so that it will grab the attention of my target audience. As well as this, i do not believe it looks like it would fit into the 'Indie Rock' genre that my magazine is.
The third and final font, An Unfortunate Event, would also not fit into the 'Indie Rock' genre. I believe that this font would look more at home in a metal or punk music magazine, and therefore is unsuitable for use in my own.

Sell Line Fonts - 'Symbol Deed'
Once again, for the main sell line I have selected to use the Bebas font. I have chosen to also use this font for the sell lines as well as the mast head because not only does it create a common style that will run throughout the magazine, it is also the perfect size and shape to use on the front cover. Not only this, it has a modern look to it, which is what i am aiming for, because it will make the front cover of my magazine look quite modern, meaning it will attract the attention of the younger generation, who are my target audience.
The second font, True Lies, is also a very nice font. However, due to the slight distortion on it i don't believe that it would suit the look of my magazine, and would more fit into a rock magazine, like Kerrang.

The third font, Atlantic Cruise, was a close second for use for the sell line. However I chose to use Bebas because i believed this font looked slightly old fashioned, which is not what I am aiming my magazine to look.

Body Text Fonts

For my body text font, it needs to be clear, easy to read, and yet small enough to be able to fit enough text on a single page. As well as this, they need to be very simple to read when there is lots of the same font together. This is because body text is used as the bulk of a page, and if you are unable to read the font when there a more than just few lines of it, then it is useless as a body text. Despite this, I want my magazine to have a sleek and modern feel to it, and because of this I have chosen to use the second font, Roboto. The main reason why i have chosen to use this as the body text font is because it looks very modern, and it also goes very well with Bebas, the font I will be using for my Masthead and Sell lines.
