I read through an example article from a 'Q' magazine. In the article, I identified many different features in it that we were shown about previously. One of these features was a main headline/title. The title of this article was 'Kick Out the Jams', which is very short and snappy, and this, and as well as this, the font was far larger than any other font on the page. These two features paired together means that the title/headline was very effective at catching the reader's attention and getting them to read further into the article.
Secondly, drop caps were used at the beginning of the main body text. This is effective because not only does it point of the beginning of the article, but it also draws the readers attention straight after the title, almost forcing them to read on.
After this, subheadings were used throughout the whole article. This helps to divide the body text up, which makes it much more appealing to read, because it does not just look like one extremely large chunk of text, as this can often deter somebody from reading the article. As well as this, they can also help people to easliy skip to a certain part of the article if they are not interested in the rest of it. In one of the subheadings, a quote was used from on e of the band members. This makes the article much more appealing to fans of the band, because people like to know what the band members are like behind the scenes, and also to see if there is any details that may not be in any other magazine.
As well as these, anecdotes and stories were used from the band members to add the the exclusivity of the magazine and in particular the article.
